Kesteril Tablet is a nutritional supplement with an active ingredient called Alpha Ketoanalogue. It is part of the category of medicines known as amino acids. It is administered alongside a protein-restricted diet to slow the progress of chronic kidney disease (CKD). It helps reduce uraemic symptoms (caused by the accumulation of nitrogenous products, which are typically eliminated by the kidneys), improves nutritional status, and decreases metabolic issues for CKD patients. It can lower urea levels in the bloodstream and reduce the progression of the kidney condition, slowing the long-term dialysis requirement.
Avoid taking Kesteril tablets if you are allergic to Alpha Ketoanalogue or its components. Do not consume this medication in the event of hypercalcemia (high amount of calcium) or irregular heartbeats; the use of this medicine could result in an increase in calcium levels in your blood as well as irregular heartbeats. While you are being treated, your physician might recommend regularly checking the calcium levels in your blood and informing your doctor if you are breastfeeding and pregnant before you start taking this medicine.
