Monolosin 0.4mg capsules contain the active ingredient Tamsulosin. This is an antagonist of the alpha-adrenergic system that is used for males to manage benign prostate hyperplasia (enlarged prostate) and can cause urinary difficulty, pain in urine, and frequent urgency and frequency of urinary discharge. It also helps decrease muscle tension in the prostate and the urethra. It is part of the group of medicines known as alpha-blockers. The drug works by relaxing muscles of the bladder and prostate so that urine flows freely.
Don’t take this medication when you are allergic to Tamsulosin or the other ingredients in this medication or if you experience angioedema (swelling because of an allergic reaction) following certain medications.
