SEVALAC 800MG TABLET

Sevalac 800 mg tablet has an active ingredient known as Sevelamer. It is a member of the class known as phosphate binding agents. It is used to treat the condition of hyperphosphatemia (high blood levels of phosphate) for adult patients who undergo dialysis (hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis) and those suffering from chronic kidney diseases with elevated levels of serum phosphorus. It should be combined alongside other treatments, like vitamin D and calcium supplements, to help prevent bone diseases. A high level of blood phosphorus can result in calcification, where deposits are formed and can make blood vessels stiffer, affecting blood flow.
Do not ingest Sevalac 800 mg tablet if you have an allergy to Sevalac 800mg tablet or any of the ingredients in the medicine. Avoid taking this medicine when you are suffering from an insufficient amount of phosphate as well as an obstruction in the bowel. Before you start taking this medication, be sure to inform your physician if you’re pregnant, are planning to become pregnant, or believe that you are expecting or nursing. Before beginning the treatment plan, inform your physician if you are having difficulty swallowing or if your stomach or bowels are having problems transporting food.
Inform your physician if you suffer from bowel inflammation or have been through a significant bowel or stomach surgery. Sevalac 800 mg tablet is not recommended for children younger than six years of age due to the lack of research studies regarding their safety or effectiveness within this age group. If your doctor has warned you of sugar intolerance, be sure to consult with your doctor before taking this medicine since it is lactose-based.
