SEVOCIP 800MG TABLET

Sevocip 800mg tablet contains an active ingredient known as Sevelamer. It is part of the class referred to as phosphate binders. It is used to treat hyperphosphatemia (high blood levels of phosphate) for adult patients who undergo dialysis (hemodialysis or dialysis peritoneal) and patients suffering from chronic kidney disease with elevated phosphorus levels in their serum. To avoid bone disease, it should be combined with other treatments, like Vitamin D and calcium supplementation. The high blood phosphorus levels could result in calcification, which is when hard deposits develop and increase the stiffness of blood vessels, affecting blood flow.
Do not take the Sevocip 800 mg tablet if you have an allergy to Sevelamer or other ingredients in the medication. Do not consume this medication when you are suffering from lower levels of phosphate or an obstruction in the bowel. Before you start taking this medication, inform your doctor if you are expecting or planning to become pregnant or believe that you are expecting or nursing. Before beginning therapy, tell your physician if you are having difficulty swallowing or if you feel your stomach or bowels have issues moving food.
Inform your doctor if you have an intestinal inflammation or have undergone significant bowel or stomach surgery. Sevocip 800 mg tablet is not recommended for children younger than six years old due to the lack of research studies regarding the safety and efficacy within this age group. If your physician has informed you that you have a problem with sugar, be sure to consult with your doctor before taking this medication because it contains lactose.
