Vaptolva 15mg Tablet has an active ingredient called Tolvaptan. It is part of a class of antagonists to Vasopressin. The medication increases the amount of water excreted in the urine, which in turn increases the rate of aquaresis (water excretion without losing electrolytes) and decreases the urine osmolarity (measurement of the concentration of urine), which can increase the engagement of sodium in the serum. This medicine requires constant monitoring of the blood sodium levels. It is recommended that patients drink sufficient fluids during treatment to prevent dehydration. People who are unable to drink should consult their health professional.

Before beginning treatment, talk to your physician before starting the medicine if you suffer from kidney or liver issues or have an allergy to any of the ingredients like benzazepine and Vaptolva, 15mg Tablet, or any different benzazepine derivatives. This medicine is not advised for patients suffering from Anuria (lack in the urine), Hypovolemic hyponatremia (Deficiency in body fluids total and sodium levels), Hypernatremia (high sodium levels in the blood), and those who are unable to feel thirst. Therefore, it is advised that you consult your physician. The safety and effectiveness of children who are less than 18 years old are not known.
