Ristova 500 mg injection is a source of the active ingredient of the drug rituximab. It is used to treat different diseases that affect adults. It can be used by itself or in conjunction with other medications to treat Lymphoma (cancer that affects B-lymphocytes, which are white blood cells) as well as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (the most frequent form of cancer that targets B-cells). It can also treat moderate-to-severe arthritis (a form of arthritis in which the immune system targets the leukapheresis cell body cells that line their joint) when combined with methotrexate in adults. Other uses include granulomatosis, polyangiitis, or microscopic angiitis (inflammation of blood vessels primarily affecting the lungs and kidneys) in children and adults two years or older. It can also treat moderate to severe pemphigus vulgaris (an autoimmune disorder that causes painful pimples on the skin and the lining of the mouth, nose, throat, and genitals.
Ristova 500mg injection falls into the class of medicines known as monoclonal anti-CD20 antibodies. Don’t take this medication if you are sensitive to rituximab or another ingredient in this medicine, suffer from a weak immune system, or suffer from an active disease. Inform your doctor if you suffer from heart disease, failure, or breathing difficulties before starting the treatment. Consult your physician if you’ve ever suffered a hepatitis B infection, as the infection can reactivate in some cases and may be severe in some cases. Breastfeeding and pregnancy are not recommended while receiving this treatment.
Common adverse effects that can be triggered by Ristova 500 mg injection include blood clots, decreased red blood cells, and dizziness. Other side effects include swelling in the body and face, itchy face, diarrhea, increased sweating, and high or low blood pressure. Make sure you are using effective contraceptives during treatment and for 12 months following the last dose if you can become pregnant. This medication may trigger severe reactions to an infusion within 24 hours of treatment. Inform your doctor or health professional if you have any reactions to the infusion, including increased blood pressure or chest pain, headache, breathing problems, nausea, or skin rashes. You may also experience throat swelling.
