Veltiro 500mg injection is rituximab. It is used to treat several diseases in adults. It can be used with or without other medications to treat non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a cancer that affects white blood cells known as B-lymphocytes. In adults, it is indicated for treating moderate to severe rheumatoid (a disease in which the immune system attacks its body cells) when combined with methotrexate. Also, granulomatosis polyangiitis and microscopic polyangiitis are used to treat adults and children older than two years old with inflammation of blood vessels. It can also treat mild to moderate pemphigus (an autoimmune disease that causes painful blisters on the skin, lining, and nose of the mouth and throat).
Veltiro 500mg injection belongs to a class of drugs called monoclonal anti-CD20 antibodies. This injection should not be taken if you have an allergy to rituximab, any of its ingredients, a weak immune function, or a severe infection. Before starting the treatment, tell your doctor if you suffer from heart disease, heart failure, or breathing issues. Speak to your doctor if the infection has ever been severe. In some cases, it can reactivate. This injection is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Veltiro 500mg injection can cause side effects such as blood infection or reduced red blood cell count, dizziness and swelling of the face and the body, itchy and dry skin, diarrhea, and high blood pressure. If you are pregnant, use effective contraception during treatment and for 12 months following the last dose. This medication may cause severe infusion reactions during or within 24 hours after administration. Infusion reactions such as chest pain, headaches, breathing problems, vomiting, skin irritations, or throat or tongue swelling should be reported to your doctor or healthcare professional.
