Lupiximab 100mg injection is a source of the active ingredient, the drug rituximab. It is prescribed for various diseases in adults. It can be used by itself or in conjunction with other medicines to treat non-hodgkin’s Lymphoma (cancer that affects B-lymphocytes or white blood cells) as well as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (the most frequent form of cancer that targets B-cells). It is also used for the treatment of moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis (a form of arthritis in which the immune system attacks cells in the body of the joints it owns), together with methotrexate for adults. Other uses include granulomatosis, polyangiitis, or microscopic angiitis (inflammation of blood vessels primarily affecting the lungs and kidneys) for children and adults aged two years or older. It can also treat moderate to severe cases of pemphigus vulgaris (an auto-immune condition that can cause painful burns on the skin and the lining of the mouth, nose, throat, and genitals.
Lupiximab 100mg injection falls into the class of drugs known as monoclonal anti-CD20 antibodies. Don’t take this medicine if you’re allergic to rituximab or any other components of this medication, suffer from a weak immune system, or suffer from any active severe disease. Inform your physician if you suffer from heart disease, failure, or breathing issues before starting treatment. Consult your physician if you’ve ever suffered a hepatitis B infection since the infection could recur in a handful of cases and is sometimes severe. The use of breastfeeding and pregnant women is not advised while receiving this treatment.
Common adverse reactions of Lupiximab 100mg injection include a bacterial infection of the blood vessels, diminished number of red blood cells in your body, dizziness, and swelling of the body’s face and skin. Itchy face, diarrhea, more sweating, and a low or hypertension. Make sure you are using effective contraceptives during treatment and for 12 months following the last dose if you can become pregnant. This medication can cause severe reactions to infusions during or within 24 hours following the administration. Inform your doctor or medical professional if you experience any reactions to the infusion, including elevated blood pressure and chest pains, headaches, breathing problems, vomiting, and skin rashes. You may also experience throat swelling.
