MONOVISC INJECTION

Monovisc injection has an active ingredient known as Sodium Hyaluronate. This is part of the category of drugs known as intra-articular agents. It’s similar to natural cushioning fluid joints. It helps to lubricate and protect joints by acting as a shock absorber. The medicine helps relieve knee pain in osteoarthritis (OA) patients. It is typically prescribed to patients who haven’t been able to respond well to other medications used to treat arthritis.
Don’t use Monovisc injections if you are sensitive to Sodium Hyaluronate or its components. Don’t use this medicine in the event of an injury to your knee or the knee’s skin. Before you take the medication, inform your doctor of an incident of blood clots or circulatory concerns in your legs or when you are allergic to feathers, birds, or egg-related products. Consult your physician for any pre-existing Chondrocalcinosis (cartilage calcification). This medication is not recommended for children aged 21 years or under because its safety and efficacy have not been established.
Before beginning to take Monovisc injection, notify your physician if you are expecting or planning to become pregnant or suspect that you are nursing or pregnant. Be sure to inform your doctor if you are a victim of any illness. The most common side effects of the medication are redness, pain and stiffness, bruising or puffiness around the site of injection, nausea and stomach pain, difficulty moving, pain in the back muscle discomfort, numbness or dizziness, headaches, tingling and runny or nasal congestion.
