Toritz 100mg injections contain the active ingredient of the drug rituximab. It is a treatment for various diseases in adults. It can be used by itself or in combination with other medications to treat non-hodgkin’s Lymphoma (cancer which affects B-lymphocytes, which are white blood cells) as well as chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (a type of cancer that affects B-cells). It is also used to treat moderate-to-severe arthritis (an illness in which the immune system targets the cells in the body of its joints) when combined with methotrexate for adults. Other indications are granulomatosis, polyangiitis or microscopic angiitis (inflammation of blood vessels which predominantly affects the lungs and kidneys) in children and adults aged two years or older. It can also treat mild to severe pemphigus (an autoimmune disorder that causes painful burns on the skin and the lining of the mouth, nasal, throat and genitals.
Toritz 100mg injection is part of the class of medicines known as monoclonal antibodies against CD20. Avoid taking this medication if you are sensitive to rituximab or another ingredient in this medicine, are immune-compromised, or suffer from an active disease. Inform your physician if you suffer from heart disease, problems, or breathing difficulties before starting the treatment. Discuss with your doctor when you’ve had a hepatitis B infection since the infection can reactivate in a handful of cases and may be severe in some cases. Breastfeeding and pregnancy are not advised when receiving this treatment.
Common adverse effects of Toritz 100 mg injections are blood clots, decreased red blood cells, dizziness, and swelling of the body, face, and skin. Itchy face, diarrhoea, more sweating and high or low blood pressure. Make sure you are using effective contraceptives during treatment and for 12 months following the last dose if you can become pregnant. This medication may trigger severe reactions to infusions during or within 24 hours of treatment. Inform your doctor or medical professional if you experience reactions to the infusion, including increased blood pressure and chest pains, headaches or breathing issues, nausea and skin rashes. You may also experience throat swelling.
