Mofilet S 360 mg tablet is an immunosuppressant that contains an active ingredient named Mycophenolate sodium. It is part of the inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH) inhibitor class. It is prescribed to avoid organ rejection in patients who have received the organs of a donor (such as heart, kidney, and liver transplants). It is defined as a part of a treatment combination that includes other immunosuppressive medications.
The use of this drug is not recommended during pregnancy because of the risk of miscarriage or congenital disabilities. It is not recommended for pregnant women unless there are other alternatives and the benefits outweigh any risks. Women with a reproductive capacity should be advised to utilize an effective contraceptive tablet to stop the onset of pregnancy. Live vaccines shouldn’t be administered when a patient takes Mofilet S 360mg tablets because of the decreased effectiveness of vaccines and the possibility of contracting an infection. Patients taking this medication must not give blood during treatment and at a minimum of 6 weeks after stopping treatment. It is a way to ensure that the drug is eliminated from the body before giving blood.
It is usually advised not to take this drug when allergic to the medication or other ingredients. Inform your physician if you suffer from heart or liver disease before beginning treatment. Since this medication weakens the body’s immune defenses, it increases the risk of developing skin cancer. People should reduce exposure to sunlight and the ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Contact your physician immediately in case of skin bruising on your body, fever, unresolved fatigue, dizziness, discoloration of the skin or eyes, vision impairment, diminished urinary output, or seizures following this medication. Mofilet S 360mg tablet is an anti-inflammatory medication. It could affect the baby’s growing immune system, and breastfeeding should be avoided during the first few months of life.
