VALCHEK TABLET

Valchek tablet contains Valganciclovir, an active ingredient that acts as an Antiviral. It falls under the category of Antiviral (Non-HIV) medications. Once inside the body, Valganciclovir is converted into Ganciclovir, which fights against viral infections. This tablet is prescribed for adults with Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) who have Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infections in the retina of their eye. CMV infections often result in vision problems and potential blindness.
Furthermore, it is also used to prevent CMV infections in both adults and children who have received an organ transplant from a person infected with CMV. Do not take it if you have an allergy to Valganciclovir, Ganciclovir, or any other substances in this medication. Let your doctor know if you have a low blood cell count (WBC, RBC, Platelet). Inform your doctor if you have received radiotherapy, hemodialysis, or kidney issues. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, inform your doctor. It is essential to use effective contraception during and after treatment. Women should use contraception for 30 days, while men should use condoms for 90 days during and after treatment. If you have concerns about fertility, discuss them with your doctor. If you have kidney problems, your Valchek tablet dosage may need to be adjusted. Your doctor may also conduct regular blood tests to monitor your blood count while taking the tablet.
