LANUM C 500 mg Tablet is an antacid medication within the class gastrointestinal agent category that contains an active component, Calcium carbonate. It treats insufficient calcium (insufficient amounts of calcium) within the body. The drug is also prescribed to patients who undergo dialysis for kidneys. It removes the phosphate in the blood that isn’t eliminated by dialysis.
Do not take this medication if you have an allergy to Calcium carbonate or other components, difficulty breathing, or skin itching. The drug is usually not advised if you suffer from kidney stones or high levels of calcium found in urine or blood. Consuming too much of Lanum C 500mg Tablet could result in hypercalcemia. Increased amounts of calcium present in blood define this. The symptoms of hypercalcemia can include nausea, fatigue, constipation, excessive thirst, and frequent urination. In extreme cases, it could result in muscle weakness, confusion, and cardiac irregularities.
