Celebrex 200mg capsules contain the active ingredient celecoxib. It is part of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAID) group, specifically the sub-group known as Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors. It is prescribed to adults to alleviate symptoms and signs of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid joint, and ankylosing Spondylitis. For conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, the excessive production of prostaglandins from your body may cause inflammation and pain. This medication works by reducing prostaglandin production, effectively reducing inflammation and pain.
Don’t take Celebrex 200 mg capsule if you are allergic to Celecoxib or any of its components. Inform your physician if you have experienced reactions to sulfonamide medications and suffer from ulcers or bleeding from the stomach or in the intestines or have experienced unfavorable reactions to NSAID medicines like aspirin. Before you begin treatment, consult your physician, as it is suggested to avoid taking this medication when there is a pregnancy or nursing. Don’t take this medication when you suffer from kidney or liver diseases, have an inflammatory condition in your intestines, or have heart-related problems like cardiac failure, heart disease, or circulatory issues. Also, if you’ve undergone surgery on the leg arteries or have a history of blood flow issues, this medication is not recommended. It contains lactose.
