Hylasto S injection is a treatment option for knee pain caused by osteoarthritis (OA) that utilizes an active ingredient called Sodium Hyaluronate. This substance is classified as an intra-articular agent, which means it mimics the natural fluid in the body that helps cushion and protect joints, providing lubrication and shock absorption. When other arthritis medications have been ineffective, Hylasto S injection may be recommended to alleviate knee pain in OA patients. If you have an allergy to Sodium Hyaluronate or any components of Hylasto S injection, it’s not recommended to use this medication. Additionally, avoid using this medication if you have an infection in your knee or the surrounding skin. Before taking the medicine, inform your doctor if you have a history of blood clots or circulation problems in your legs or are allergic to birds, feathers, or egg products. Also, let your doctor know if you have pre-existing chondrocalcinosis (cartilage calcification). This medication is not recommended for children under 21, as its safety and effectiveness have not been established in this age group. It’s crucial to alert your doctor before receiving a Hylasto S injection if you’re pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or unsure if you’re pregnant or if you’re breastfeeding. Additionally, it’s essential to disclose any pre-existing medical conditions. Common side effects of the medication include discomfort, redness, stiffness, bruising, or swelling at the injection site, nausea, abdominal pain, difficulty walking, back pain, joint pain, muscle pain, numbness or tingling, headache, dizziness, and a runny or stuffy nose.
