Methocel 50mg Injection is a combination of the active ingredient Methotrexate. It is an antimetabolite and immunosuppressant medication. It is prescribed to treat specific types of cancers, including acute lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) and meningeal Leukemia lymphoma osteosarcoma, cutaneous lymphoma (Lymphoma), breast cancer, and head and neck cancers of adults. It can also be utilized to manage severe cases of psoriasis in adults (a skin disease that causes patches of red and scaly skin to appear on the body in certain areas). It can also be used for treating rheumatoid joint disease in adults.
Do not take Methocel 50mg injection if you have an allergy to Methotrexate or any other component of this medication. Avoid taking this medicine when you suffer from liver or kidney issues, blood disorders, weak immune system, or if you are pregnant or nursing. Inform your doctor immediately when you notice any signs of coughing up and spitting blood, general weakness of muscles or vision problems, and changes in memory, thinking, and orientation. The medicine could affect fertility. Beware of becoming pregnant during the treatment and for six months following the dose that was last taken.
Inform your physician if you are suffering from a stomach ulcer, active infection, or mild kidney problems and about any recent vaccinations before starting the treatment. Methocel 50 mg Injection may cause severe adverse reactions even in very low doses. Thus, regular follow-ups and routine lab tests will be required as a measure of precaution.
