Neo-drol 125mg injection is an anti-inflammatory medication belonging to the category of glucocorticoids. It contains the active ingredient methylprednisolone. This drug can be used for treating allergic or inflammatory conditions that affect the brain (caused by meningitis or tumours) or the lung (caused by asthma and tuberculosis), hypersensitivity or the inhalation of stomach contents) or gut and bowel (Crohn’s colitis and ulcerative). It is used to treat skin, rheumatic eye, and endocrine diseases of the eye, skin, and endocrine. It can also be used in the treatment of tumours (leukaemia and lymphoma) as well as the relief of pain following surgery. In higher doses, it’s utilized to treat flare-ups of symptoms of MS. This injection is not recommended when you suffer from an infection caused by fungal bacteria or swelling of the brain caused by an injury to the brain that is traumatic or malaria-related or if you were vaccinated or are about to receive any vaccination. Common adverse reactions that are likely to be experienced from this drug include headache, vision issues, poor wound healing and weak bones. Other serious side effects include blood clots that can form in the lung veins and leg veins and bleeding ulcers. Inform your doctor if these side effects bother you or continue to linger longer than usual. See your doctor right away to get more information.
This medication can raise the chance of some eye issues, like posterior subcapsular cataracts and glaucoma. These issues can cause visual loss if not addressed appropriately. Corticosteroids may also affect the body’s immune system, making people more prone to secondary diseases caused by fungi or viruses. It is, therefore, crucial to administer corticosteroids at the lowest dose effectively with the least amount of time to minimize the chance of adverse side effects.
If you notice an alteration in eyesight or discomfort when you take a Neo-drol 125mg injection or any other corticosteroid, then it is crucial to notify your doctor immediately. Your doctor will carefully monitor your electrolytes, blood pressure levels, and kidney function as you take corticosteroids to minimize the negative consequences. Additionally, all corticosteroids enhance calcium excretion. This can cause osteoporosis as well as an increased risk of fractures when used for a long time. Your doctor may prescribe vitamin D and calcium supplementation to maintain bone health when using corticosteroids. Discuss all medications you’ve taken recently, such as herbal remedies and supplements, with your physician before taking this medication.
