This drug may increase the chance of developing specific eye conditions like posterior subcapsular cataracts and glaucoma. These conditions could lead to loss of vision if not addressed appropriately. In addition, corticosteroids can affect immunity, which makes people more vulnerable to secondary ocular diseases caused by fungi or viruses. It is, therefore, crucial to administer corticosteroids at the lowest dose effective in the shortest time to reduce the risk of developing these adverse negative effects.
If you notice some changes to your eye’s vision or discomfort when taking Neo-drop 500mg injection or any other corticosteroid, you must notify your doctor immediately. Your doctor will monitor your electrolyte and blood pressure levels and kidney function as you take corticosteroids to minimize the negative consequences. Additionally, corticosteroids may boost calcium excretion, which could lead to osteoporosis and an increased risk of fractures when used for a long time. Your doctor will recommend vitamin D and calcium supplementation to maintain bone health when using corticosteroids. Before taking this medication, discuss with your physician the medicines you’ve taken in the last few days, including herbal and supplements.
