Reditux 600mg injection has the active component of rituximab. It is used to treat different diseases that affect adults. It can be taken on its own or in conjunction with other medicines to treat non-hodgkin’s Lymphoma (cancer that affects B-lymphocytes, which are white blood cells) as well as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (a type of cancer that affects B-cells). It is also used for treating moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis (an illness in which the immune system attacks cells that make up the body’s joints) when combined with methotrexate in adults. Other indications include granulomatosis and polyangiitis, also known as microscopic polyangiitis (inflammation of blood vessels that predominantly affects the lungs and kidneys) for children and adults aged two years and over. It can also treat moderate to severe pemphigus vulgaris (an auto-immune condition that can cause painful pimples on the skin and the lining of the mouth, nose, throat, and genitals.
Reditux 600mg injection falls under the class of medicines known as monoclonal antibodies against CD20. Don’t take this medicine if you’re allergic to rituximab or any other ingredient in this medicine, are immune-compromised, or suffer from an active disease. Inform your doctor if you suffer from heart disease, failure, or breathing issues before initiating treatment. Discuss with your physician if you’ve ever suffered a hepatitis B infection since the infection could reactivate in a handful of cases and may be severe in some cases. Breastfeeding and pregnancy are not recommended while receiving this treatment.
Some common adverse effects associated with the Reditux 600mg injections include blood clots, decreased red blood cells, dizziness, swelling of the body and face, itchy face, diarrhea, more sweating, and high or low blood pressure. Utilize effective contraceptives during treatment as well as 12 months after the last dose if you do become pregnant. This medication can cause severe reactions to infusions during or within 24 hours of administration. Inform your doctor or health professional if you have any reactions during infusions, including increased blood pressure or chest pain, headache or breathing issues, vomiting, and skin rashes. Also, you may experience throat swelling.
