Ritulasta 100mg injection has the active ingredient of rituximab. It is prescribed for different diseases that affect adults. It can be used by itself or in conjunction with other medications to treat non-hodgkin’s Lymphoma (cancer which affects B-lymphocytes, which are white blood cells) as well as chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (a type of cancer that afflicts B-cells). It can also treat moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis (a form of arthritis in which the immune system attacks leukapheresis cell body cells that line their joint) when combined with methotrexate for adults. Other indications include granulomatosis and polyangiitis or microscopic angiitis (inflammation of blood vessels primarily affecting the lungs and kidneys) for children and adults aged two years or older. It can also treat moderate to severe cases of pemphigus vulgaris (an auto-immune condition that can cause painful burns on the skin and the lining of the mouth, the nose, throat and the genitals.
Ritulasta 100mg injection falls into the class of drugs known as monoclonal anti-CD20 antibodies. Don’t take this medicine if you’re sensitive to rituximab or another ingredient in this medicine, are immune-compromised, or suffer from an active disease. Inform your doctor if you suffer from heart disease, failure, or breathing difficulties before starting the treatment. Discuss with your doctor when you’ve had a hepatitis B infection, as the infection can reactivate in a handful of cases and may be severe in some cases. The use of breastfeeding and pregnant women is not advised when receiving this treatment.
The most common adverse effects of Ritulasta 100mg injection are blood infections, reduced red blood cells, dizziness, and swelling of the body, face and skin. Itchy face, diarrhoea, more sweating, and low blood pressure. Utilize effective contraceptives during treatment as well as 12 months after the last dose if you do become pregnant. This medicine can trigger severe reactions to an infusion within 24 hours following treatment. Inform your doctor or health professional if you have any reactions to infusion like elevated blood pressure, chest pain, headache, breathing problems, nausea, or skin rashes. You may also experience throat swelling.
