Rituxem 100 mg injection , is contained within this product. It is prescribed for a variety of adult diseases. It can be used with or without other medications to treat non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a cancer that affects white blood cells known as B-lymphocytes. In adults, it is indicated for treating moderate to severe rheumatoid (a disease in which the immune system attacks its body cells called leukapheresis) when combined with methotrexate. Also, granulomatosis polyangiitis and microscopic polyangiitis are used to treat inflammation of blood vessels in the lungs and kidneys of adults and children older than two years. It can also treat mild to moderate pemphigus (an autoimmune disease that causes painful blisters on the skin, lining, nose and genitals).
Rituximab 100 mg injection belongs to a class of drugs called monoclonal anti-CD20 antibodies. This injection should not be taken if you have an allergy to rituximab, any of its ingredients, a weakened immune system or a severe infection. Before starting the treatment, tell your doctor if you suffer from heart disease, heart failure or breathing issues. Speak to your doctor if you’ve ever had hepatitis B. The infection can reactivate in some cases, and it can sometimes be very severe. This injection is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Rituximab 100 mg injections can cause several side effects, including infection of the blood and reduced red blood cell count, dizziness and swelling of the face and the body. Other common side effects include itchy or dry skin, low blood pressure, and increased sweating. If you are pregnant, use effective contraception during treatment and for 12 months following the last dose. This medication may cause severe infusion reactions during or within 24 hours after administration. Infusion reactions such as chest pain, headaches, breathing problems, vomiting, skin irritation, or throat swelling should be reported to your doctor or healthcare professional.
