SOLU MEDROL 500MG INJECTION
₹929.00₹1,162.38 (-20%)
Solu medrol 500mg injection is an anti-inflammatory medication belonging to the glucocorticoids class, which contains the active ingredient methylprednisolone. It treats inflammatory and allergic conditions that affect the brain, lungs, gut, and bowel. It is used to treat rheumatic and skin disorders and eye, endocrine, and eyelid problems. It can also be used to reduce pain following surgery and for palliative cancer treatment (including leukemia and lymphoma). It is also used in higher doses to treat flare-ups of symptoms associated with multiple sclerosis. This injection is not recommended if you are suffering from a fungal or malarial infection, have suffered traumatic brain injuries, have recently been vaccinated, or have had any recent vaccinations. This medicine can cause headaches, vision problems, and poor wound healing. Blood clots can also occur in leg veins and lungs. Bleeding ulcers are another severe side effect. If you are concerned about these side effects or if they persist longer than usual, inform your healthcare provider. For more information, consult your doctor right away.
This drug may increase the risk for certain eye conditions, including posterior subcapsular cataclysms and glaucoma. If not treated correctly, these conditions can cause vision loss. Corticosteroids may also weaken individuals’ immune systems, increasing their susceptibility to secondary ocular infection caused by viruses or fungi. It is, therefore, important to use corticosteroids in the lowest dose possible for the shortest duration possible to minimize these side effects.
You must inform your doctor immediately if you notice any changes in vision or discomfort with your eyes while taking Solu Medrol 500mg Injection or any other corticosteroid. To prevent side effects, your healthcare provider will closely monitor your blood pressure and electrolyte level, as well as kidney function, while you take corticosteroids. All corticosteroids may also increase calcium excretion, which can cause osteoporosis or an increased risk of fractures if used for a long time. Your doctor may prescribe vitamin D and calcium supplements to maintain bone health. Before taking this injection, tell your doctor about any medications that you’ve been taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
