Tofakin 5 mg tablet has the active ingredient Tofacitinib. It is a DMARD, also known as a disease-modifying antirheuma (DMARD), which belongs to the class of immunomodulators. It is utilized in conjunction with other medicines to treat rheumatoid arthritis (A disease in which the body attacks joints, causing pain, swelling, and loss of functionality) for people who are unable to take or respond to other medicines. It can also be utilized to manage psoriatic arthritis (A condition that causes joint pain, swelling, and scales over the body). It is also recommended for adult patients suffering from moderately or severely active ulcerative colitis.

Other applications of Tofakin 5 mg tablet include ankylosing spondylitis (inflammatory spinal disease). It can also treat active polyarticular juvenile arthritis, a chronic disease that causes swelling and joint pain in people two years and older. The drug works by reducing the activities of the immune system. Inform your doctor if you are suffering from a severe tuberculosis infection, a blood clot and liver problems. Be sure to inform your doctor if you have ever had or are suffering from a chronic hepatitis B infection since this medication can trigger the condition known as hepatitis B to return.

Do not consume Tofakin 5 mg tablet if you have an allergy to Tofacitinib or other ingredients in this medication. Contact your doctor for any signs of illness, such as chills, sweating, fever, muscle pains, coughs, breath shortness, skin sores, weight loss, pain or difficulty swallowing or consuming food or stomach discomfort. Before starting treatment, let your physician know whether you suffer from kidney or heart, lung or liver issues, a history of tuberculosis, elevated blood pressure or high cholesterol. Also, inform your doctor if you are a current or previous smoker.
