Tofatas 5mg tablet, is a source of the active ingredient Tofacitinib. It is a drug that modifies the disease of rheumatoid arthritis (DMARDs) and is part of the class of immunomodulators. It can be used by itself or alongside other medicines to treat Rheumatoid Arthritis (A disease in which the body attacks joints, which causes pain, swelling as well and loss of functionality) for people who are not able to take or who do not respond to other medicines. It can also be utilized to manage psoriatic arthritis (A condition that causes joint pain and swelling as well as scales that appear on the face). It is also recommended to treat adult patients suffering from moderately active to severe ulcerative colitis.
Other applications of Tofatas 5mg tablet are ankylosing spondylitis (inflammatory spinal disease). It can also be used to treat polyarticular juvenile arthritis, which is a chronic disease that causes swelling and pain to your joints in people who are two years old or older. The drug works by reducing the activities in the body’s immune system. Tell your doctor if you suffer from severe tuberculosis, blood infection, or liver issues. Inform your physician if you have ever had or are suffering from a chronic hepatitis B infection, as this medication may trigger hepatitis B to return.
Do not consume Tofatas 5 mg tablet if you are sensitive to tofacitinib or other ingredients in this medication. Contact your doctor if there are any signs of an infection, including sweating, fever, chills, muscle pains, coughing, breathlessness or skin sores, weight loss and pain, difficulty swallowing or consuming food, or stomach discomfort. Before beginning treatment, tell your doctor that you have kidney or heart, lung or liver issues, an underlying tuberculosis diagnosis, and high blood pressure or high cholesterol. Also, inform your doctor whether you are a current or former smoker.
