Valgacel  450 mg tablet are antivirals that contain an active ingredient known as Valganciclovir. It is part of the class called Antiviral (Non-HIV) medications. Valganciclovir transforms into Ganciclovir once it enters the body and works to combat viral infections. This drug can be used for treating Cytomegalovirus (CMV) conditions in the eyes’ retina in people who suffer from Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Cytomegalovirus can lead to vision problems and even blindness. In addition, it can prevent cytomegalovirus (CMV) infections in people who have received organ transplants from someone infected with CMV, both children and adults.
Don’t take this medicine if you are allergic to Valganciclovir Ganciclovir and its additional components. Inform your doctor if you are suffering from decreased blood cell numbers ( WBC, RBC, Platelet). Inform your physician if you received any form of radiotherapy or hemodialysis (a treatment that removes waste and water out of the blood) or if you have any issues related to your kidney. Inform your doctor if you are expecting or planning to become pregnant. Utilize effective contraception throughout and after treatment. Women should use contraceptives for 30 days, and men can make use of condoms for 90 days following the treatment. Talk to your doctor about any additional concerns regarding fertility. An adjustment in the dosage of Valgacel of 450mg tablet will be prescribed if you suffer from kidney problems.
