Zycel 200mg capsules contain an active component called Celecoxib. It is part of the class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAID) and, more specifically, a sub-group called the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors. It is prescribed to adults to alleviate symptoms and signs of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. In cases such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, excessive production of prostaglandins in your body may cause inflammation and pain. The treatment works by reducing prostaglandin production, which reduces inflammation and pain.
Avoid taking Zycel 200mg capsule if you are allergic to Celecoxib or any of its components. Inform your doctor if you have experienced reactions to sulfonamide medications that cause ulcers, bleeding from the stomach or intestines, or have experienced adverse reactions with NSAID medicines such as aspirin.
